D52 Queen’s Gambit Declined
D52 holds eight named lines, all under the name Queen’s Gambit. It leaves D43 (Semi-Slav Defense) with 5.Bg5 Nbd7 6.e3. Material is no longer level at the end of three of its lines; the widest gap, three pawns in White’s favour, comes in Queen’s Gambit Declined: Cambridge Springs Defense, Capablanca Variation. That final move, by the e-pawn, covers d4 and f4 and opens a line for the queen on d1 and the bishop on f1.
